FINCA Uganda currently offers loans, savings and money transfer services in Uganda, one of the most competitive and dynamic microfinance markets in the world. Public Relations & Communications Officer (1 position)
Role definition:
The Public relations Officer initiates and manages internal communications and works closely with the Marketing Manager on external communications. S/he manages media relations, relations with clients and the public. The position holder will plan, execute and coordinate the Public Relations and communication programs within and outside the organization in order to achieve favorable publicity and image for FINCA Uganda Ltd. S/he reports directly to the Marketing Manager.
Key Result Areas:
Plan and direct public relations and communication programs designed to create and maintain a favorable public image for FINCA Uganda Ltd.
Implement communication channels to enhance flow of information between Head Office and branches with regard to marketing campaigns and product information.
Manage special events intended for public attention and awareness.
Implement Corporate Social Responsibility activities.
Qualifications/Competencies:
Degree in mass communication or an equivalent from a recognized university/college.
At least three years of hands-on experience in a similar or related field in a fast moving services industry.
Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent analytical, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge and experience in the use of standard office software.
Flexibility, creativity and innovation.
Demonstrate sensitivity and appropriate responses to inquiries about the organization.
Working experience with the media or in a Public Relations organization will be an added advantage.
