Job Description
Kisubi Brothers University College (KBUC) is a Constituent College of Uganda Martyrs University, located 24 kilometres on Kampala-Entebbe road. Founded in 2004, KBUC is owned by the Ugandan Province of the Brothers of Christian Instruction. It is an institution of higher learning that strives to instil in its learners such knowledge, skills and attitudes as are necessary for their holistic development as well as the transformation of communities. DEANS OF FACULTY (03 Posts)
Reporting to: The Deputy Principal
Candidates should clearly indicate their interest to fill the position of Dean of any of the following faculties: (i) Faculty of Education; (ii) Faculty of Business and Information Communication Technology; and (iii) Faculty of Social and Human Sciences.
Qualifications
Eligible candidates should possess the following qualifications:
A Ph.D or higher qualification, or be a doctoral candidate
Evidence of extensive scholarly work and research
At least two (2) years’ experience in a similar position
At least five (5) years’ work experience in an institution of higher learning
Competences
Eligible candidates should possess the following qualities:
Excellent administration and management skills
Familiarity with higher education policies and practices in Uganda
Good organizational and people skills
Ability to deliver under minimum supervision
Ability to work within and to meet set deadlines
Job specifications
The Dean’s specific duties shall include:
Developing the Faculty into a strong and dynamic unit of the University College by putting in place the structures necessary to realize the University College’s objectives, aims and goals
Heading and assuring the leadership and management of the relevant Faculty
Organising and coordinating the teaching and learning activities in the relevant Faculty
Organising and coordinating the research activities in the relevant Faculty
Ensuring that assessment and evaluation is done properly, and in a timely manner
Organising and coordinating, from time to time, research forums and events in the University, in liaison with the Director of Graduate Studies and Research
Chairing and conducting meetings of the various organs of the relevant Faculty
Ensuring, in liaison with the Registrar’s office, that all the students in the relevant Faculty are duly registered
Carrying out any other duties and functions as may be assigned him/her by relevant authorities
