Kisubi Brothers University College (KBUC) is a Constituent College of Uganda Martyrs University, located 24 kilometres on Kampala-Entebbe road. Founded in 2004, KBUC is owned by the Ugandan Province of the Brothers of Christian Instruction. LABORATORY TECHNOLOGIST
Reporting to: The Head of Department, Science
Qualifications
 A Bachelor’s degree (Bachelor of Science or Bachelor’s in Technology)
 Majoring in Physical Sciences
Competences
 Excellent Laboratory practical skills
 Good practical report writing skills
 Good computer skills, ability to work with internet is an added advantage
 Excellent interpersonal working skills in a multi-cultural community
 Ability to beat deadlines
Job description
The successful candidate will carry out the following duties and functions:
 Work hand in hand with the subject Lecturers of Physics and Chemistry to organize and conduct practical sessions for the students
 Ensure proper practical report writing by the students by both physical examination and marking of the reports which are given back to the students
 Ensure safety of the equipment and reagents in the laboratory by being physically present during the practical sessions and also aid to train the students in proper use of the equipment
 Participate in the on going research in the Science Department, among which the students’ dissertations
 Advise the Head of Department on the laboratory requirements to be procured for the laboratory
 Any other duties as may be assigned to him/her by the relevant authorities
