Supervisor Labour Job Vacancy at KCCA



Job Title: SUPERVISOR LABOUR (1 VACANCY)

SALARY SCALE:   UGANDA GOVERNMENT SCALE-KCCA 6
AGE:   28 YEARS AND ABOVE
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION AND WORKING EXPERIENCE:
Applicants should be Ugandans holding  an Honors Bachelor’s Degree in Social  Work and Social
Administration or Labour Law or Arts/Social Sciences or Development Studies or Organizational/ Industrial
Psychology or any other relevant Humanities with a subject in labour studies plus a minimum of a relevant
postgraduate Diploma from a recognized University.
Applicants should have a minimum of 5 years working experience in labour  of which 3 years must have
been gained at Senior level in Government or equivalent Supervisory level of relevant working experience
from a reputable organization
He/she should have the following Key competences:  leading  and supervising  others, ability to handle and
develop youths of all categories ,excellent networking and lobbying skills; good Intra/ interpersonal,
communication,  and community mobilization skills;  data collection, documentation and reporting writing
skills; engaging  and lobbying  employers to provide employment to youths; developing and designing
strategies  that promote skills development and empowerment among youths; proven integrity,
Confidentiality and demonstrated competences  in  putting up a  team to enhance performance; and ability
to work well under pressure meet deadlines and with limited supervision
DUTIES:-
The incumbent will be responsible to the Manager Employment Management for performing the following
duties:-
 Coordinating the effective delivery of labour programs and projects in the city.
 Ensuring that approved plans are implemented in a timely manner and according to approved
budgets.
 Coordinating the process of generating quality and timely monthly reports and data from the field
programs.
 Providing support and developing competencies of supervised staff.
 Monitoring and evaluating the effective implementation of the laws regarding labor and employment.
 Advising urban on policy and related matters regarding labour and employment.
 Inspecting work places in order to make them conform to national policies and standards on
occupational health and safety.
 Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

triplicate   on  Public Service  Form No.3(2008)  accompanied by one summary form with a passport size
photograph  to  the  Secretary Public Service Commission, Kampala to be received  not later than

As proof of experience where required, applicants  MUST  attach the relevant documents such as

Applications   should bear   the title  of the post  as well as the reference  number specified  against  the

the form
Applicants should clearly indicate the first and second choice against the post where applicable and must
not apply for more than two posts.  Applicants  should attach three sets of certified  photocopies   of their
certificates and  testimonials, plus   three recent certified  passport size  photographs.
