Job Title: DEPUTY CHIEF JUSTICE OF UGANDA (1 Position)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:                  

Every Applicant should have served as a Justice of the Supreme Court or a Justice of Appeal or as a Judge of the High Court or a court of similar jurisdiction to such a court, or has practiced as an Advocate for a period of not less than fifteen years before a court having unlimited jurisdiction in civil and criminal matters.                          

Any period during which a person has practiced as a public officer holding an office for which qualification as an Advocate is required shall be taken into account in calculating the period of practice required above.

Applications should bear the title of the post applied for as well as its reference number.
Applicants should be Ugandans holding an LLB degree from a recognized University/Institution plus a post graduate diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre, Kampala Uganda, or its equivalent. Any relevant post graduate qualification (s) will be of added advantage. Extensive administrative/management experience and capacity in the judicial/legal sector, will be highly advantageous.

•2 samples of your professional papers/publications – including sample judgments (for Judges}, written submissions filed before courts of law (for Advocates), or journal articles.
•8 recent passport size photographs of your face.
•3 names and contacts of your professional referees.
•3 names and contacts of your character referees.
•A copy of the latest written Declaration Form of Income, Assets and Liabilities to the Inspectorate of Government, IGG (where applicable).
•A copy of your current practicing certificate (for Advocates).
