Job Title: REGISTRY OFFICER (2)
Reports to: Information Resources Specialist
Job role: To support the Commission's Records Management Program and to ensure best practices for the Record Centre and Archives Management

Key Result Areas

Work in consultation with Management to review and establish record management policies, standards and user guidelines;
Advance the operations of the Electronic Document Management System (EDMS);
Design and implement effective strategies for managing semi current and non-current records;
Implement effective records retrieval, retention and disposal schedules for inactive records in the Record centre;
Provide assistance in sorting, classifying and filing documents transferred to the Record Centre according to the business functions of the Commission;
Update the records inventory and improve file tracking mechanisms within the EDMS, following the Commission retention and disposal procedures;
Establish and maintain a vital records and disaster plan for information recovery in case of a disaster;
Provide support to the Procurement Unit regarding the storage and retrieval of the procurement documents and make recommendations for disposal following the Commission & PDU's retention and disposal procedures;
Ensure best practices for the Record centre and Archives management;
Provide assistance to the UCC Library and Information Resource Centre; and
Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor.


Qualifications:

A degree in Records and Archives Management and or

A degree in Library & Information Science with Records Management


Key Skills and Experience

At least two (2) years experience in a busy Registry Office; and
Conversant of the basic registry procedures;
Computer literate and proficient in the automated information management systems;
Must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, problem solving skills and organizational skills; and
Must be able to multi-task and prioritize tasks.
