Job Title: Technical Coordinator/NAADEC
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate USAID | DELIVER PROJECT activities with NADDEC as indicated below:
• Provide overall coordination and technical leadership in the implementation of agreed upon assessment and activities with partner organizations
• Provide technical advice to the USAID | DELIVER PROJECT country director on issues related to veterinary laboratory services in Uganda including the management of veterinary laboratory waste
• Conduct desk review of technical and policy documents on existing veterinary laboratory services and supply chains
• With key partners and the USAID | DELIVER PROJECT team, conduct the laboratory supply chain assessment at NADDEC and selected district veterinary laboratories
• Together with the USAID | DELIVER PROJECT (or just say “Project”) Country Director and the home office team, develop and monitor quarterly workplans for implementing NADDEC veterinary laboratory supply chain activities
• Preparation of well-written activity reports and progress reports as requested to the Project Country Director and home office team.
Qualifications and Skills
• A degree in medical laboratory sciences and/ or biomedical sciences, health sciences, or veterinary sciences, or equivalent experience.
• At least five years of experience working in a biomedical, clinical, or research laboratory in Uganda
• Experience working with local and international partners at various levels to provide technical and administrative coordination of health programs in Uganda
• Knowledge of animal and zoonotic diseases of epidemic potential that commonly affect communities in Uganda
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Fluency in English; reading, writing and speaking and able to write high quality technical reports
Highly desirable:
• Basic knowledge and/or experience working in supply chain management of health commodities in Uganda
• Laboratory management experience and understanding of technologies used in veterinary labs in Uganda
