District Coordinator Jobs Vacancy in Uganda at Uganda NCD Alliance (UNCDA)



1. Background
The Uganda NCD Alliance (UNCDA) is a joint initiative by the Uganda Diabetes Association, Uganda
Heart-Research Foundation and Uganda Cancer Society, in partnership with the Danish NCD Alliance
and with support from Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA). The UNCDA is the
first NGO of its kind in Africa and we work with wide range of partners with an interest in cancer,
diabetes, and other NCDs.
The Uganda NCD Alliance uses targeted advocacy and outreach to advance action on NCDs in
Uganda. We work with a wide range of partners and organizations, convene leading NCD experts,
provide direct support to thousands of patients, implement projects, connect new partners, and
ensure that NCDs are a national development priority.

Job Title: District Coordinator- 1 position

3. Purpose of the Job
The District Coordinator will support coordination and implementation of project activities at the
district level reporting to the Chief Executive Officer. He/she will b responsible for supporting
the preparation, implementation and follow up of activities in assigned district, help to foster
integration and coordination among project activities while coordinating with partners local
government, CSO’s at the district level.


4. KEY DUTIES AND RESPOSSIBILITIES
Responsible for the development of new branches in collaboration with parliamentarians
from the NCD parliamentary forum.
•Support project planning, monitoring and evaluation.
•Coordinate implementation of UNCDA- branch activities at the district level.
•Coordinate the collection of data on key indicators to measure success and impact on
UNCDA progress.
•Coordinate the development of quarterly implementation plans and reports to align with
strategic plan/project plan.

• Provide assistance in documentation process of ongoing activities and preparation of
reports.
Maintain an updated database of all the trainings
• Assist in the developing annual and quarterly work plan as envisaged in the project
proposal.
•Ensure the establishment of district committees.
•Participate actively in lobbying and advocacy agendas.
•Support the promotion and awareness of UNCDA activities in the district.
•Perform other related duties as assigned by the Chief Executive officer.

Requirement:
5. Minimum Qualifications: A degree in a related field and a minimum of three years of relevant experience. Experience with teaching, local government and other implementing partners will be a good advantage. Willingness and ability to work independently and as part of a team, strong organisational skills, good communicator and goo written communication.
