Job Title: Service Technician Trainee

Employer: Future Options Uganda

Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda


Duties and Responsibilities:

When stand by, keep in contact with the Operation Supervisor / Coordinator and stay in contact by means of telephone.
Upon arrival at the location of work and in collaboration with the assigned Crew Leader/Job Supervisor, report to the Customer Representative and to establish detail of the job to be performed.
At first opportunity and in collaboration with the Crew Leader/Job Supervisor, check all company service and sales items to be in satisfactory condition to fulfill the specific job requirements.
To attend on location pre-job HSE meeting if so required and wear Personnel Protective Equipment issued by Company during the job and when required by the customer.
To follow shift arrangements and meal breaks as instructed by the Crew Leader/Job Supervisor and to carry out the assigned duties as a social member of the team.
Report any operational problems which may occur before, during and after the job to the assigned Crew Leader/Job Supervisor as soon as possible.
Make recommendations for the safe execution of the job and report any non safe acts or near miss accidents/incidents.
Attend all monthly/Weekly QHSE meetings
On completion of the job; rig down the equipment, clean and prepare for back loading.
Report any shortcomings or status of non-conformance of equipment on the Company equipment fault report.
If assigned as Stabber in collaboration with the Crew Leader, inspect the stabbing board, safety line(s) and safety points.
Before commencing the job, discuss with the driller on signals and procedure to be used and repeat this each time the drilling crew changes.
To attend HSE training, equipment training and medical checks as required and arranged by Company.
Accept any reasonable base duties as required.
Responsible for QHSSE and EEP operations for his relevant functions.
Accountable to safe operation of Company and Customer (if any) Equipment in his area of operations

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

All candidates should possess a diploma or degree in a technical line, or past experience in a similar operation i.e. rig operation or casing and tubing running activity.
All persons must be able to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing, to be able to read instructions and fill out job related paperwork and write reports. To be proven through a small test with reports, delivery tickets and a short, hand written report.
The applicant should be sound mentally and physically.
The applicant should be able to perform his/her duties in a variety of irregular working hours.
A physical examination prior to employment is required to verify fitness.
Comprehensive knowledge on Safety
Be physically good and can work in hard weather conditions
Work is performed in an onshore or offshore environment.
Communication skills, reading and writing (preferable English)
Applicants must have a minimum of two years experience within their field of expertise. i.e. rig operation or casing and tubing running activity and familiar of all TRS equipment.
The Technician also should be aware of all safety standards and the work instructions including manuals from all Weatherford equipments being used.
