Job Title: Information and Documentation Officer

About this Job:
A number of Development Partners in Uganda have decided to establish the Democratic Governance Facility (DGF), which manages coherent, harmonized and coordinated multi-donor support to promote Democratic Governance in Uganda. It has three interlinked components: Deepening Democracy; Rights, Justice and Peace; and Voice & Accountability. The DGF provides a dynamic, pleasant, culturally- mixed and enabling working environment. Jointly, the DGF team will aim at a common goal, with shared performance targets. The team operates in a collaborative and complimentary manner within and across the three components. DGF provides its staff with opportunity for vertical and horizontal growth, enabling them to deepen their technical and managerial skills in multiple, but related technical areas.

Job Title: Information and Documentation Officer

Reporting to: Head of Program (HOP)

Work centre: Kampala

The Information and Documentation Officer will Work within the framework of the DGF Communication Strategy, guided by the HOR S/he will also serve as Executive Assistant to the Head of Program.

Key responsibilities:

Keep the DGF web-site updated and well maintained.
Edit Quarterly Progress Reports and the Annual Report.
Manage ad-hoc requests for information from key stake-holders
Prepare minutes from meetings in the Steering Committee & Board.
Provide editorial and quality assurance support to programme staff.
Manage the Intra and the Extra Nets
Stimulate a culture of learning within DGF and keep track of learning opportunities.
Develop and maintain a database of CV of consultants.
Assist the HOP in preparing programs for visiting missions
Assist the HOP in the preparation of notes from meetings
Assist the HOP in maintaining good communication with external stake-holders.
Undertake any other assignments as delegated by the HOP.
Requirement:
Academic and professional qualifications

An advanced degree in Communication or related field preferably to Masters Level.
Excellent analytical, communication and report writing skills.
High level of English proficiency and advanced IT-skills.
Additional qualifications in the relevant technical areas.
Competencies and experience

At least three years experience working in similar role.
Excellent proven “track record” in report writing and documentation.
Excellent communication skills and capacity to build effective professional relationships.
Good knowledge of the media landscape in Uganda.
High level of IT-skills and experience with desktop publishing.
