Curriculum Specialist- BTVET Jobs in Uganda at The National Curriculum Development Centre


Job Title: Curriculum Specialist- BTVET (Technical)

Job Description
Responsible to:    Head of Department BTVET

Age:                      Not above 50 years

Scale:                   CD 5 or 6 depending on the qualification

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in electrical engineering or telecommunication Engineering
Diploma in electrical engineering
At least a qualification in Education/pedagogical skills
A master’s degree will be an added advantage
Main purpose or the job:

To develop curricula and curriculum related materials.  

Duties and responsibilities:

Initiates and   develops ideas on cumcular reforms,
Develops and prepares subject syllabi, teachers’ manuals, texts and other related curriculum materials
Organizes and conducts writing workshops.
Writes, coordinates and edits curriculum units developed by the panel and other teachers.
Organizes and conducts orientation courses for teachers.
Popularizes education in the relevant
Services the subject panel by planning and convening meetings, preparing working papers and furnishing the necessary data and relevant research reports.
Any other duties as may be assigned by the Head of Department
Experience:

A minimum of 4 years teaching experience at a technical college or institution of higher learning

Pre-Primary, Primary, Secondary and Tertiary), organising capacity building courses for stakeholders on curricula and matters related to curriculum.
