Job Title: Senior Officer Youth Earning by Learning (YEL) (03 positions)

Job Description

Job Purpose;                                                    

Reporting to the Education Specialist, the job holder will provide ongoing capacity support and coordination of the project partners with project planning, implementation, monitoring & evaluation and reporting on youth education and entrepreneurship with linkages to marketable vocational and agriculture skills.                                                  

Academic background, Experience & Person Specifications:                                                                                  

A minimum of a Degree in Humanities or a relevant discipline. Additional or post graduate qualification in Education is an added advantage accrued working experience in a youth empowerment related field.                                                                                  
At least 3 years progressive experience in programme development and management with International NGOs. Relevant experience supervising community based social          development projects and with International NGOs particularly those addressing children’s rights and those applying partnership approach is desirable                                                
Thorough understanding of child rights issues, youth social and economic empowerment and international trends in youth programming.                                        
Strong financial, planning and budget management skills and experience.                                                      
Strong capacity to support research, documentation, module development and youth advocacy at both local and national                                                                                                            
Effective interpersonal skills – oral and written communication skills.                                        
Strong documentation, reporting, facilitation and presentation skills                                                                                          
Written and verbal fluency in English and the local language
