   OFFICER – HARDWARE INSTALLATIONS AND MAINTENANCE- (01 POSITION)
JOB CODE:    HRM/073/603

REPORTS TO: SUPERVISOR INFRASTRUCTURE INSTALLATIONS AND MAINTENANCE

ROLE:           To maintain the URA IT and Network Hardware Infrastructure as per best industry practice and in accordance with the URA ICT Strategy.

Person Specifications

a)    Qualifications

At least a higher diploma in a relevant field.
A relevant Professional certification such as CISCO or MCSE or equivalent will be an added advantage.


b) Experience and Knowledge

At least two years’ experience in maintenance of IT hardware and network infrastructure in a large corporate environment
Should be familiar with operating systems such as Windows 7, Windows XP, Unix/Linux, and working with the TCP/IP protocol.




(c) Character

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills’
Customer focused, sensitive to high quality services
Ability to work on cross-functional project teams from diverse business areas;
Ability to manage challenges in a high tempo/stress environment.
High Integrity; Team Player and potential leader.
Excellent inter-personal, negotiation, oral & written communication skills,
Ability to explain technical concepts in non-technical terms to clients and staff;
Self-Motivated, innovative, can work independently and as a team member;
keeps current by reading, interpretingand applying information and adapting to technology changes and updates;
ability to organize and prioritize work, be proactive, take initiative, resolve problems, follow through, and simultaneously manage multiple priorities to ensure goals are met in a timely manner


(d) Special Requirements

Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time in front of a computer.
Must be able to perform physical activities, such as, but not limited to, lifting heavy equipment (up to 12kgs. unassisted), bending, standing,climbing or walking.
Willingness to work additional hours during the week and/or weekend, if required.
ability and willingness to travel on work assignmentssometimes with little advanced notice;
