Project Manager to be based in the Sub office in Kabale

The Role:

Reporting to the Natural Resources Governance Program manager, Project Manager will provide overall technical leadership to the Health, Education, Agriculture & land Rights (HEAL) project. More specific functions of this position include: managing all aspects of the program implementation through liaison with implementing partners; preparing and maintaining reports; providing overall responsibility for the day – to day operations, coordination and accountability of the program activities and resources.

Key responsibilities:
 Develop plans and strategies that will contribute to sustainable improvements in the wellbeing of members of the impact group Manage the Project resources ensuring efficient usage and high standards of accountability
 Lead the Program Team in a manner that empowers them to deliver excellent service delivery and high standards Seek out and develop strategic alliances so that stakeholders work together effectively to maximise benefits to the impact group and enhance our collective capacity for influence and impact Initiate advocacy strategies that results in social change and poverty alleviation for the impact groups
 Coordinate CARE’S interventions with Partners so that their capacity for effective service delivery is enhanced and sustainable benefits for the impact group are achieved
 Provide Partners and CARE Staff with technical advice and support, enabling them to carry out monitoring, evaluation and learning; advocacy; and land rights according to best practice.


Requirement:

Person specifications/qualifications:
 Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies or Social Sciences, additional post graduate qualifications in Project Management, policy analysis & Advocacy, or Public Health gives the applicant added advantage
 Computer skills
 5 years experience at a middle or senior management level in project management.
 Wide knowledge of strategies, operational policies and approaches in desirable thematic of Community Empowerment, Food Security and Social Services for marginalised groups.
 Good knowledge on grants management processes.
 Understanding of the environment and society in south western regions of Uganda, NGO operations and their interests. Being able to impartially assess partnership performance
 Ability to interpret donor regulations on all context of grant management and transactions.
 Knowledge of programming skills, program evaluation and impact measurement.
