Job Vacancy: Advocacy & Information Coordinator

CARE seeks motivated and qualified professionals to fill the positions:

Advocacy & Information Coordinator to be based in the Sub office in Gulu.

The Role:

Reporting to the Country Office Advocacy manager, the Advocacy & information Coordinator will be working as part of the Northern Uganda Women Empowerment Program (NUWEP). S/he will be responsible for the implementation and coordination of all NUWEP advocacy related activities taking place at grass root level and linking the advocacy issues to national level. This includes data collection and analysis of data related to SGBV identification of advocacy issues in the community with focus on SGBV, Livelihoods, psychosocial support, gender, peace building and conflict resolution, water & sanitation and capacity building in advocacy for district implementing partners and activists; creation of a forum for knowledge sharing and learning at community and district level.


Requirement:

Qualifications/ Requirements
 Degree in development studies, law, social sciences or related field.
 2-6 years experience in a similar position
 Good knowledge of advocacy processes and tools including capacity building of others
 Knowledge of government structures and policies at local national and international level
 Proven experience in initiating and nurturing partnerships and  coalitions at local & national level
 Strong documentation and analytical skills
 Very good Computer Skills particularly in Word-processing, Spreadsheet software and presentation media.
 Strong facilitation and team work skills.
