Job Description
Uganda Media Development Foundation invites applications from interested journalists working for radio stations in Mbale, Soroti and Tororo to apply for a residential media and democracy training that will take place at Hotel Kayegi in Mbale from the 7th-10th of May 2012.
The objective of the training is to further build on the capacity of the journalists so they are able to identify and fill major gaps in the reportage of media and democracy issues at the local government level; improve on their understanding of the operations and responsibilities of the local governments in order to make them more accountable and discuss a way forward on how the media can become an active platform through which local communities can have their voices heard on democracy and governance issues that affect them.
Participants from Soroti and Tororo should report on the afternoon/evening of 6th May while those from Mbale should report on the morning of 7th of May. Note, however that there will be no transport refund for the training.
