Ugacof is a leading coffee processor and exporter in Kampala, where it is the trading, logistics and finance hub of the group.
The company is seeking a Systems & Network Administrator with the right technical and people management skill tn assist the Systems Operations Manager This position will hi- based in Kampala bul will occasionally require movements both domestically and internationally’.

THE POSITION:
The successful candidate will work closely wilh the Systems Operations Manager and his/her should be able to:
• Provide technical support on a variety of technologies including but not limited to network operating systems, desktop technologies, windows server technologies, be able to administer and install an In-house web application using IIS7, windows services and Microsoft SQL Server. Rack and configure equipment. Maintain network infrastructure with extensive use of monitoring internet, wireless and VPN. WAN and remote access concepts, firewalls and assuciated security.
i’LAN and configure desktop, servers and network environment.
Server upgrades and infrastructure troubleshooting. Installation and configuration of operating systems and mles.
• Secure systems and networks adhering to company security policy and Industry best practices with multiple layers of authentication and audit.
THE REQUIREMENTS:
• Strong working knowledge in areas of server and network hardware diagnostics anil repair.
• Knowledge in network administration – LAN/WAN architecture, routers, switches, firewalls and load balancers.
• Knowledge of email administration.
• Working knowledge of enterprise storage infrastructure.
• Organized and being detail oriented wilh high initiative.
• Strong communication skills hoch written and oral.
• Experienced wilh building out a site, plus, SQL & Suo system would be an added advantage.
• Networking and other related skill.
• Good understanding on security and system best practice for desktop, server, network and wireless.
• Clear and good understanding of TCP/IP networking and basic hands on experience on setting Vl.AN. VPN, Ports, DNS & Fire walls rule base.
• Assist with resource management 10 maximize udlization.
• Ensure prompt identification and resolution of problems.
• Establish and maintain successful relationships with end-users and departments.
• Ensure expectations and satisfaction is measured and managed (metrics and surveys) on a regular basis.
• Strong communication and customer support skill is a must.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor’ degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
• Must have 2-5 years of systems administration experience including experience in both server administration and network administration roles and responsibilities.
• Must be willing to work late hours occasionally.
• Should demonstrate high levels of integrity, honesty and commitment.
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills, interpersonal skill flexibility, sound decision making abilities and be able to work under pressure.
• Ability to speak and write excellent English.
