About this Job:
AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) is an international not for profit NGO, registered in Uganda as AHF-Uganda Cares. The organization offers HIV services including; prevention, impact mitigation, treatment and care services in collaboration with the Government of Uganda and other stake holders.
AHF -Uganda Cares is seeking for dynamic, community health focused and self motivated individuals with relevant experience to fill in the following vacant position.
Job Title: Dispenser
Location: Masaka Healthcare Centre
Reporting to: Nurse in charge
Key Responsibilities
DISPENCING & ADMINISTRATION WORK
To dispense medication as stated on prescriptions, maintaining accurate dispensing records and ensuring that the medication is labelled with the correct drug name, strength, quantity, directions for use, patient’s name and includes any additional required information.
Maintain minimum stock levels of medicines, place accurate and timely orders with suppliers and accept deliveries of medication, adding them to the computerized stock control records.
Using the EMIS clinical computer systems, ensure all relevant information is recorded within individual patient records.
Adhere to all aspects of the Health and Safety at Work Act and Regulations and Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations, ensuring good hygiene, cleanliness and a safe environment in the dispensary
Respond to queries from patients, pharmacies, hospitals, nursing homes etc, whether by face-to-face contact, telephone, email, fax etc
Requirement:
Qualifications:
Must possess a technician dispenser diploma or its equivalent from a recognized Medical pharmacology institution.
Must have at least two or more years of working experience in the relevant field.
