About this Job:
The Government of Uganda represented by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development is in the process of recruiting staff in key areas below on contract basis. Interested persons with the required qualifications should submit applications at the address below:
POST: ELECTRICAL ENGINEER (4)
Schedule of Duties:
a) Review progress reports on major development projects in generation, transmission, distribution and rural electrification.
b) Participate in formulation of proposals in the power sub sector.
c) Participate in sensitisation programs leading to electricity use and safety.
d) Work with Consultants in carrying out necessary investigations and implementation of power projects.
e) Monitor progress of work and ensure satisfactorily standards, quality assurance, and control of workmanship and timely completion of power projects including studies.
f) Review the project designs including drawings, specifications and work schedules resulting from feasibility studies of power projects;
g) Review reports submitted by Consultants.
h) Attend site meetings for the purposes of reviewing progress and giving directions.
i) Participate in procurement of goods, works and consultancy services required for implementing the project.
j) Participate in the preparation of progress reports on the implementation of power projects as may be required from time to time, divisional reports and annual reports.
k) Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Requirement:
PERSON SPECIFICATIONS:
A Bachelor’s Honours Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized University/Institution
Post graduate training in electrical power development related fields is an added advantage At least 3 years working experience
