Food Security and Livelihood Coordinator Assistant

ACF is looking for a Food Security and Livelihood Coordinator Assistant based in Kampala (with frequent travel to field locations). The person will be under the direct supervision of the Food Security and Livelihood Coordinator and may represent the programme in the absence of the FSL coordinator.

Responsibilities:

•    Provide general technical support to food security and livelihood programmes.

•    Be proactive in consolidating and following up program deadlines and work plan.

•    Coordinate and document all field reports; including donor reports, monthly reports and weekly situation reports.

•    Critically review program documents before submission to the coordinator.

•    Follow up that program monitoring and evaluation is conducted on time and that data is verified.

•    Provide assistance in food security situation monitoring and situation analysis.

•     Provide support in capacity building of national staff.

•     Support the Food Security Coordinator in internal and external coordination.

Requirement:
Academic Qualifications:

♦   University degree in agricultural economics, economics, development or any applied social sciences, post graduate education is an asset.

Experience:

♦   Minimum of 3 years of meaningful professional experience in food security, livelihoods, or agricultural interventions.

♦   Extensive field experience at ground level.

♦   Experience in assessments, project design, M&E, and reporting.

♦   Experience in developing concept papers, logical frameworks, donor proposals and reports.

Specific Skills:

♦   Demonstrated qualitative and quantitative data analysis skills.

♦   Ability to work independently when necessary, set realistic goals, and work within agreed timelines.

♦   Ability to articulate complex ideas and concepts verbally and in writing.

♦   Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to support, motivate, and train field staff.

♦   Professional computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, internet, and email.

♦   Ability to communicate and perform within an international and multicultural team.

♦   Fluent language skills in English and national language Acholi, Langi, or Ngakaramojong would be assets.

♦   Familiarity with humanitarian principles

♦   Knowledge of different donor mandates and their reporting procedures is an advantage.
